Ivermectin's US Demise - The Together Trial
One of the reasons I started this substack, was to put forth the latest evidence found in the scientific literature, so you can make informed decisions on your health. I have read thousands upon thousands of papers, and I am getting pretty good at sniffing out bought and paid for studies. The first example of this I came across,... were the studies on carrageenan. It's an excipient found in many nutritional supplements. Also a food additive in many foods. It's an emulsifier, so it is common in ice cream, lattes, etc... Scientists have been warning about this additive for decades, but health authorities continue to rely on a couple of studies showing its safety. And both these studies were bought and paid for,… by the world’s leading producer of carrageenan. And so what's the harm with carrageenan? Researchers who study anti-cancer treatments, use it to induce tumors in the colon of lab rats. Think about that for a second. Of all the cancerous substances that they could have used, they chose carrageenan? Why you may ask? Because it is very predictable and consistent in producing tumors. That's how I came to know about carrageenan. I'm a colon cancer survivor. And in researching this topic, saw in the method section of these papers, they were using carrageenan to induce tumors in the colon of lab animals. And so I wondered,... is this the same thing that I find listed as an excipient on a few of my nutritional supplements?
Did you know the Trump administration has given the ok to use this carcinogen, now in organic foods? Crazy world right? So not only can this be found in some health supplements, and in many foods,… it can now be found in organic foods as well. I'm not going to provide the evidence for this. It's in the public domain if you wish. Maybe I'll do an article on it in the future, but today, I just wanted to give you a little background on what goes on, and why bought and paid for studies litter the scientific literature.
These studies are not cheap. So you can bet private or corporate interests are not putting up tens of millions of dollars without getting something in return. And that is just the simple truth of the matter. It's an investment for them. Either to get a drug or product approved, or to make sure their products aren't threatened by some cheap and effective alternative. Nobody is putting up money to find a cure for cancer or heart disease when they can milk you with their expensive medications and/or surgical procedures. So please, don't ever donate to the American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association or any such organization again. Their mission statements in finding a cure for cancer, or ridding the world of heart disease,... is a bunch of crock. Your money can be better spent elsewhere.
Now that I got that long prologue out of the way, I want to talk today about a paper that was basically, the nail in the coffin for Ivermectin. It was called the Together trial. They named it so, due to them studying a number of repurpose drugs (11) at the same time. This way they can all use the same placebo control group for all the potential therapeutics. Not having to fund and observe 11 different control groups, just one, since none in that group are getting any of the looked at medications.
This study is what they consider to be a gold standard trial. That is a randomized, double blinded, placebo controlled trial. And it was so highly thought of,… that it won an award as the best study of 2021. So it was no doubt to be paraded on every news program, every newspaper worth their weight in journalism, espousing Ivermectin does not work. It so shaped the thinking here in America, that journalist, doctor mouth pieces, and others,… were asking why we should continue funding and studying Ivermectin, when it clearly doesn’t work. That it would be just a waste of time, money and resources.
Now that time has passed, and people have had time to scrutinize this trial, they have found many flaws. From under dosing the intervention arm, by not giving enough of the medication to show benefits. Changing protocols in midflight. Particularly, changing who is included in the study, and also changing endpoints, midway through the trial. Another concern was the location where it was conducted,… in a country where nation-wide use of Ivermectin was taking place. So how are you gonna find a control group that hasn't used Ivermectin? It was OTC there. Other concerns were found through leaked emails as well. The emails revealed the study was unblinded and shared not only with the investigators of the trial, but also with people outside the study. And that is huge. If you can see results of a trial, as it is being conducted, you can manipulate the methods and change designs to shape what results you like to achieve. And as mentioned earlier, they did change protocols midflight. These are just a few of the concerns with this trial. There are many more. And quite a few authors have written about this, but no one has done better work in uncovering all this stuff, more completely, than this guy, Alexandros Marinos, who has fully investigated all facets of this Together Trial…
The Problem With The TOGETHER Trial - by Alexandros Marinos (substack.com)
But what I would like to highlight and point out,… is what I mentioned above in setting this all up. In that many studies are bought and paid for. And this study is just another example of this. All that investigative stuff on how they engineered and shaped desired results is a nice find, but honestly,… all you need to know is who funded this study and who are the investigators who ran this trial. In other words, are they just hand puppets of Big Pharma? And did funding come from Big Pharma interests? Well, the answer to both those questions,.... is a resounding Yes.
Here is the disclosure form of potential conflicts of interest for the lead investigator in the Together Ivermectin Trial….
See any familiar conflicts of interest? Why look,… The lead investigator has ties to vaccine makers, Pfizer and AstraZeneca. Also Regeneron, who recently received an award of $1.4 billion from the US government to develop new COVID therapies and vaccines. What a coincidence. Not to mention he also received funding by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Absolutely no conflicts of interest here… LOL! It has also been revealed, that the initial run of this TOGETHER trial was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Whereas, there is no mention of this later on. This screenshot below is from the Way Back Machine.
Repurposing Medication for Treatment of Covid-19 | Together Trial (archive.org)
Here’s another interesting tidbit about this… In the conclusion of the study, they go out of their way to announce funding came from Fast-Grants and the Rainwater Foundation, with of course no mention of the Gates Foundation….
“Treatment with ivermectin did not result in a lower incidence of medical admission to a hospital due to progression of Covid-19 or of prolonged emergency department observation among outpatients with an early diagnosis of Covid-19. (Funded by FastGrants and the Rainwater Charitable Foundation; TOGETHER ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT04727424.)” Effect of Early Treatment with Ivermectin among Patients with Covid-19 - PubMed
You have no idea how highly unusual this is... I have looked at thousands upon thousands of papers in my research on health throughout the years, and never, have I ever seen funding declared in the conclusions of any study. I kid you not. Go to PubMed and just look at any of the hundreds of thousands of papers listed there, and see if you can find this occurring in any other study. It’s as if they don’t want you to look further for conflicts of interest. This is the only reason I can see, for them stating the funding, right there in the conclusion of the study.
By the way the disclosure form above, can be found at the bottom of the Together study in a PDF file.
One other thing about this disclosure,… the lead investigator, Craig Raynor replaced principal investigator Ed Mills (Feb 2022), shortly before the study was published, as shown in the disclosure form. Ed Mills was the original corresponding author since November 2021,... I guess Raynor was likely a better choice to do interviews and press conferences on their findings, being a huge Big Pharma hand puppet. I think that was probably the wise choice on their part, don’t you? LOL!
Could you imagine how fast his funding would dry up from Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Regeneron and Bill Gates if he had found a benefit with Ivermectin? Cause we are talking about sizable amounts of funding. From the Gates Foundation alone it is close to 3 million dollars since 2020. That funding went to Certara, where Raynor is a senior executive and president of integrated drug development. Of course, it would be more likely he would be canned and blackballed, as Certara wouldn’t want to lose all that funding.
Check out this interview with the investigative journalist I mentioned earlier, Alexandros Marinos, who uncovered much of the corruption in this trial. And watch how frustrated he gets at why they did the things they did. I get a kick out of how surprised he was,…. as if there was no reason for this behavior. When it is crystal clear everything points to this being a “bought and paid for” study,… desperately designed to show Ivermectin as being ineffective. Funded, arranged and conducted by the very folks who would benefit most from this result. Because as we know,… Ivermectin is incredibly effective. And shown to be an excellent prophylactic. And so, they must have had to really contort themselves into knots, in order to produce results that wouldn’t show any benefit. Cause it certainly wouldn’t be an easy feat, to show an award winning, extremely effective, and incredibly safe medication to be of no help. They obviously had to pull a lot of strings to make that happen.
This is basically old news. But I thought I would give just a little more history on this incredibly safe, very affordable and extremely effective medication. Mainly because it continues to be,… of possibly great benefit to everyone right now…. Why It's Important Everyone Should Have Ivermectin Handy - ohbaby's substack (Jan. 2024)
We can’t keep getting infected by this virus,…. 1,500 Americans dying from COVID each week despite vaccines, treatments - ABC News (Jan. 2024)
Of Note: Censorship is still in full swing regarding Ivermectin. This is the 3rd article I have written on it and yet none of them,… show up in the search results when googling “ohbaby’s substack”. Bing offers the most search results, but none I’ve written on Ivermectin are listed. The censorship will never let up on this incredibly safe medication,…. because it has shown to be that effective for a great many things.
Update: This article has made it into the Bing search results. My first two on Ivermectin didn’t, but this one did? I think reason might be that this headline doesn’t explicitly suggest the approval of Ivermectin, whereas the other two did.
Stay safe and be well….
